Our Story
This journey started in September 2013 on the third day of the school year when Zach entered what he hoped would be the last phase of his final teaching interview. The last hurdle was to teach a sample lesson to a real-life fourth-grade class in Grayson's classroom. You could say the lesson went well, because just a few days later we found ourselves as grade-level teaching partners.
The rest, as they say, is history!

Since then we have partnered to lead district level professional development sessions and have traveled around our home state of Michigan to present over 50 times at various educational conferences and events. In May 2021, we released, The Expert Effect, a book for teachers sharing all of our beliefs about education and how we can innovate within the system to create deeper learning experiences for students. In May 2022, we released a children's book titled, The Expert Expedition, as a follow up to our first book with the goal of getting our message directly in the hands of kids!
